At the end of the last academic year, we rolled out the Oasis Horizons Project. This will see every student in the Academy have a dedicated iPad for use in the classroom. This is a hugely exciting development, and one which we want our new English teacher to play a key part in developing the use of online and interactive technology to enhance learning.
As part of Oasis Community Learning, the Academy follows the pre-planned and resourced OCL English curriculum. This offers exceptional pedagogical development for teachers, alongside support of our dedicated National Lead Practitioner for English.
Job/Person Summary
We are seeking inspirational and an outstanding of Teachers of English to join our experienced English department. The successful candidates will be required to teach English Language and Literature at KS3 and KS4 to the highest standard and make a positive difference to Academy life. A willingness to support the Academy ethos and support of extra-curricular activities within the Academy is essential. Applications from newly qualified teachers are welcome, alongside applications for teachers with more experience.
This role offers excellent opportunities for the right candidates to develop their role working in collaboration with the other Academies in Southampton. You must be able to use a range of teaching strategies to inspire and motivate our students and demonstrate a commitment to sharing best practice with colleagues in the department.
